NATALIE
Just started sessions with Ronan and absolutely loving it! He knows exactly what I need to do and is working me to my max. Can’t wait to see the results I can achieve in a few months’ time.
FRASER
Ronan is very knowledgeable and extremely supportive. He adapts and personalises each workout around your strengths (and weaknesses!), communicating continuously so you know why you are undertaking each exercise.
NEIL
Tremendous coach, has given me an absolute education on both training and nutrition.
A must-try for me.
Why barbells are better
Wary of free weights? Let me change your mind.
Gymgoers tend to stick to the machines because they’re familiar. That means they miss out on the all-round benefits of barbells.
Most gym machines give you a single, dictated resistance pathway. They tend to isolate one part of the body, so their effectiveness is limited.
Barbells, by contrast, offer multi-joint, multi-compound exercise.
Lifting isn’t just about piling on muscle tone – although that’s one result. It provides strength, fitness and cardio training.
It also allows you to burn calories more efficiently and keep the weight off.
That’s why I see the barbell as the Swiss army knife of gym equipment.
If you’re new to weights, come along to KiloGym for a trial session and give it a go. I think you’ll find it a revelation.
